Arai Chaser X Helmets. New for 2017 Be The Best In SportsTouring

    Shell Construction with VAS

The new Arai Chaser X replaces the Chaser V helmet. Arai have spent years developing their new VAS Variable Axis visor system, with the purpose of further increasing the safety of their helmet range. New for 2017, the Chaser X is the third model with VAS built in, joining the top of the range RX-7V race helmet, and the new Arai QV Pro, which replaced the Quantum ST. Easier to use than the previous mechanism, the Variable Axis System gives a smoother and rounder silhouette, a stronger shell especially above the Snell test line, and utilises the special new visor lock, designed to be easily controlled even while wearing gloves. The American Snell system is a test standard first used by the car racing industry as a safety indicator, now expended to encompass motorcycling, equestrian, bicycling, blading and other sports and leisure helmets. Arai say that their new, smoother shell shape increases the glancing-off rating, meaning that in an accident, the helmet is designed to perform in a safer way, and not create drag in a possible accident.

    Optimised Ventilation

The ventilation on the Arai Chaser X is an evolution of previous Arai touring model, but derived from the RX-7V race helmet. It is designed to scoop in maximum airflow through a single intake vent, easy to control even while wearing motorcycle gloves. Inner EPS channels directly distribute the airflow around the top of the head, optimising the refreshing feel, adding to on bike focus. The composite, hand-made, famous Arai composite fibre shell incorporates a special new banding system of long string fibres, strengthening the above visor forehead area without increasing the bulk of the shell, or adding to the weight, thanks to a new advanced resin formulation. The inner comfort of the Chaser X comes from their Facial Contouring System of central and cheek pads, their coverings made from an antibacterial fabric that is soft on the skin, and longwearing. The Chaser-X features a fixed, non-retractable mini chin cover. The chin vent is also new, while the Formula One developed visor lock system is the same as used on the RX-7V. All Chaser-X helmets come with a standard Max Vision visor with a Pinlock insert in the box.

Feature Focus: The Arai VAS Variable Axis System

Arai keeps the circumference test area of their helmets smoother and rounder than ever before. This increases the Glancing Off performance of helmets incorporating the new Arai shell and VAS system over and above other helmet models, reducing potential accident impact energy by keeping the head moving and minimising impact force. The new VAS system sits at a lower angle than before, and reduces the amount of recess made by traditional visor mechanisms. Sitting more flush with the overall shell surface, rather than a recess at a vulnerable area of the head, the new VAS system makes the test area around the temples smoother, thus protecting the rider as fully as possible.
